The Kecks and Haleakala

In my usual spot close to UKIRT and after the sun has set. This was among the last set of pictures I took on this night a couple of weeks ago as the sky was clear and it was going to be a busy night. The silhouette of Haleakala, the dormant volcano on Maui, is in the background behind the twin Kecks.

Incidentally, it's been pointed out to me, not for the first time, that many people may not realise that large versions of the pictures in my blog can be seen by simply clicking on the pictures themselves. One option is to simply add a caption to each image which says "click on this picture for a larger version" but I feel this starts to get monotonous and actually a little distracting. If anyone has a clever idea about how to make this obvious to readers without mentioning it with each picture or post I'd be interested in reading your opinion or suggestion. Thank you!

How about a java script that has a message pop up (roll over) when the curser crosses the image.

Or, could use old fashioned HTML (or new fangled CSS) which causes color of linked image border to change when mouse is moved over an image.

CSS way ...

/* fc9, ffcc99: orange, similar to post title.
*/
.post a:link img {
border:1px solid #ffcc99;
}

.post a:visited img {
border:1px solid #fc9;
}

/* 333 (dark grey, same as title text when mouse goes over it) is not as attention getting as bright pink.
*/
.post a:hover img {
border:1px solid #f0f;
}

Plop the above somehere under "Formatting" tab which shows the template, after ...

.post img {
padding:4px;
border:1px solid #cccccc;
}

... in the text area.
