High over its cloudy domain

The NASA IRTF waiting for sunset high atop Mauna Kea on Independence Day evening. Haleakala on Maui is visible in the distance. A photo of the IRTF seemed appropriate as I've been working with a group of NASA scientists on the mountain since late last week.

Can you please tell us what you wear up there in July? Are you all bundled up like in winter (coat and gloves and boots) or do you wear lighter clothing?

gigi - still wrapped up even in the summer. It's still close to freezing point at night although the days can be warm. The winds have been high as well (30mph) so that makes it feel even colder.
