Slide show

I put together a Flickr slide show of some of my favourite pictures from the last year or so that have appeared on this blog. I hope you enjoy the show. You can see a much larger version using this link.

It's a shame I can't use any music to accompany the show, but when I first played the slide show I listened to one of my favourite slack key guitar songs, "The Beauty of Mauna Kea" by Keola Beamer. If you have the song or have access to it online, you might consider playing it!

I love your pictures and the slideshow is a great idea. You should put it on your sidebar.;)

Hi Tom,
nice photos - it reminds me of my time working at JCMT. it's a shame that the cloudy nights give the best photos but the worst data...

What a unique vantage point you occupy. Great slide show, Tom. The color variations are remarkable.

Thanks Zuzana and Richard. Zuzana - I used to have a slideshow in my sidebar but it really slowed things down, so am not sure I want to go there again. I might do it again if it works OK though.

Bill - great to hear from you! I had no idea you lurked here. I hope life's treating you well and that the STFC cull hasn't affected you too badly.

Great pics. Couldn't notice the two shots of Hawaiian Paradise Park cliffs and ocean front houses. Do you live on those cliffs?

Susan - I live nearby on Kaloli Point but not right on the cliffs. I don't think I could ever afford one of those houses!

All I can say is WOW.....I enjoy my far off view of Mauna Kea, but having it right at your feet has to be an out of this world experience.... The few times I've been up there early in the morning or late in the evening have not yielding such spectacular sunsets and sunrises....

Thank you, Sonia! I think I'm just fortunate as I'm at the summit a lot so get to see several sunsets and sunrises so can pick and choose the best!
