Can someone explain to me...

...why computer set up instructions these days are on the PCs hard drive, so you've already had to set up the computer in order to read them?

This particular computer company's excuse is that they're going green so all the documentation is electronic. So why do I have so many shrink wrapped paper documents written by lawyers instead?

Yes, the new computer is working, fortunately I have a few brain cells left to figure things out for myself, but I pity anyone who's never set up a PC before and buys this thing.

Oh, and it's only crashed once today. Things are looking up.
